In celebration of Kyle Welcher’s winning of the Bassmaster Elite Series Angler of the Year in 2023, Sunline has created a collector’s edition signature series spool of line. Each spool comes in a customized black box with Kyle’s signature in gold and a numbered certificate of authenticity and message from Nobuyuki Kajio, president of Sunline America.
Only 300 of these special spools were created to celebrate Welcher’s accomplishment and they will not be made again. He was honored by the gesture from Sunline and hopes to add several more commemorative spools of Sunline to his trophy case throughout his career.
“For a company like Sunline to do something special like this to celebrate the greatest accomplishment thus far in my fishing career means a ton to me,” said Welcher. “My association with Sunline is more than a partnership; it’s truly a relationship and a friendship, and for them to make a product like this for me is truly an honor.”
Moving forward, Sunline has plans to recognize milestone accomplishments by Sunline pro staff members with other limited-edition spools. Sunline has a long history of supporting competing anglers, and this new contingency program is an expansion of that support for 2024.
